A Whole New World: Magic Carpet Ride!

If you had a magic carpet, where would you go?

Soar over a desert, explore the ruins of ancient civilisations…fly to the top of Wembley Stadium and have a sneaky peak of your favourite band or football club?

The Year 6s have described exactly what they would do with a magic carpet, but with a poetic twist, by creating ‘Sense poems’/

    I would touch the golden head of the
    Marble pallice.

    If i had a magic carpet
    I would taste the summer breeze
    As sweet as honey.

    I would fly over the city
    And listen to the citys weeps and cheers.

    I can smell spices as hot
    As the sun.

    I would gaze down at people’s faces
    As they watch a man make the impossible possible.

    Maybe even fly to the moon.

    I could breathe in the delicious, delectable spices
    thrown into the air.

    I would watch the radiant sky
    meandering through the night air.

    I would dream of
    brushing through the untamed forests
    and swimming through delirious, burning blue seas.

    I would inhale the stale smell
    of the dusty desert sand.

    I  would gaze at the ruins
    and glide through the terrain.

    I would go where no man has been before
    Wherever the wind took me.
