Hi, it’s your School Captains Alexie and Julia here! Just wanted to update you on the Building Hope in Bunkpurugu project and how well it is going!
So far, since 2016, we have raised a total of £4,402.42! During this project we have done a sponsored walk (September 2016) and raised £1,136 so far, so get those donations coming in! We have done lots of different fundraisers and activities to get to this stage in our fundraising and if it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t have got this far so we would like to say a massive, huge, ginormous THANK YOU to our whole community that has helped us along this project.
Our next fundraising event is next week at the Becket School where we will be uniting with all of the other schools in our Trust for an exciting Christmas Market! On Thursday 30th November, 5-8pm there will be food, fun, games, music and so much more! There will even be a chance to hold live animals such as rabbits, snakes and guinea pigs! We would love you to attend, and to bring lots of money, so that you can buy the fantastic candle jars that we have made and can enjoy our musical performance at 6:45pm! We look forward to seeing you there!
Yesterday we joined students from St Edmund Campion, St Patrick’s and Our Lady and St Edward’s School to discuss our thoughts about the Bunkpurugu project and to come up with some fantastic ideas of what we can do next. Whilst we were there we discovered some exciting news…Miss Ferrara is going to visit the school site in Bunkpurugu! She will be travelling with teachers from The Becket and from English Martyrs’ Primary School. If you have any ideas of what the staff should take to the community in Ghana and what you would like to see whilst they are out there visiting then please comment below! We discussed, and came up with, some fabulous ideas…which we will reveal next year!
We’ll see you at the Christmas Market and speak to us in school if you have any ideas for our Trust charity!
Alexie and Julia.
