This week, Year 5 have been exploring the stylistic devices used in poetry. Having been inspired by the text ‘Treason’, Year 5 have written poems as Brother John, a Tudor monk who was persecuted for his faith. Their writing focuses on using repetition for impact and stylistic devices (such as similes and metaphors) to create an image in the listener’s mind.
We conducted our lesson outside so that we didn’t use any energy during this lesson (apart from the ONE iPad used to film the poetry performances).
Enjoy watching their performances!
