Pole to Pole: How can we adapt?

A really interesting discussion was had in Year 4 today as we explored the reasoning behind the name given to the most northern and southern points on our globe.

Year 4 had their thinking caps on and came out with truly thought-provoking ideas that got us all pondering the question at hand!

What a way to start off our topic this term!

  1. The north pole is called that because a point on the earths surface that is as far north or south as posible.Each end of a magnet or electric cell.

  2. People think there is a pole at the north and south pole but there isn’t the earth spins from that point like there was a real pole there and it’s spinning.
