With Cross Country training in full swing on Monday afternoons, a committed team of Year 4s, 5s and 6s have proved just how impressive their cardio stamina is!
Our circuits around the field are getting faster each week, with all runners running tall, relaxed, ‘banging the drums’ and pacing themselves with turtle, pig, cheetah speed. Want to know what this running terminology refers to? Simply ask in a comment below!
Furthermore, a small team of runners from BRW were excited to take part in the annual Rushcliffe Country Park Cross Country Run:
A team of year 5s and 6s ventured to Rushcliffe Country Park on October 5th to take part in a county cross country dash. With as many as 30+ male and female teams, our BRW runners paced themselves beautifully, showing great stamina and strength in order to complete a 1500m circuit each (that’s approximately 4 loops of our WHOLE field). Team spirits were high, with wonderful encouragement from pupils and supporting parents alike. Highlights were a number of our BRW runners channelling Mo Farah, and overtaking numerous opponents in the final 20m! The team should be proud to show-off their cross country certificates…and proud of the wonderful cheers from parents too!
