Year 3 had a wonderful day at Cresswell Crags this week. First, we split into two tribes – The Woolly Rhinos and The Cave Bear Tribe. We visited the gorge and sat in a Stone Age cave examining and discussing artefacts (even getting to play some Stone Age instruments!) We named and classified rocks in a Rocky Relics session. Survival Skills was also on the timetable. Just like in prehistoric times, we built shelters, hunted a deer and tried to create fire from some pieces of wood with holes in and a piece of string!
The children were very impressive and really shone in their behaviour and their knowledge. I was certainly very proud of you all. What a brilliant way to spend the day learning.
