Year 3’s Class Mass

Today, is the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord, also known as Candlemas. This feast has been celebrated in the West since at least the sixth century. It is based on the story told in Luke 2:22-40. In accordance with Mosaic Law, Mary & Joseph brought their 8 day old son, Jesus, to the temple. Jesus, the light of the world, was brought to be offered to God. So this is a feast of light.

On Thursday morning Year 3 will be celebrating Mass in our classroom. We will begin with a blessing of the candles. Parents are very welcome to join us, in what we anticipate to be a lovely service.
