A = addition

S = subtraction

BODMAS is an acronym explaining the order in which to do a calculation.

Brackets, should always be completed first in an equation or calculation. Order, means that anything that needs to be squared, cubed or square rooted. Division and multiplication, should be completed from left to right where both are in a calculation. Finally addition and subtraction, again if they are in the calculation together these should also be completed in the order BODMAS tells you. This is also known as the order of operations. For example it could be used by ;

6+(10+2)÷2=12                                                                                                                                                                                  6+12÷2                                                                                                                                                                                                  6+6=12

72 ÷ 8 – (12-7)+ 6 x 5

What do you think the answer is?
