We’ve had an exciting British Science Week in Year 3!
We purchased a Crystal growth box from The Gadget Shop in the hall, and are checking it regularly for changes.
As our topic is ‘States of Matter’ we’ve been learning a lot more about how materials are affected by heating and cooling. This has involved dropping some ice-cubes into room temperature water, and measuring the temperature every five minutes…with surprising results!
We also had the challenge of creating some ice-cube skyscrapers. We had to work fast and co-operate really well in teams. The children soon discovered tricks to make their ice-cubes ‘stick’ together. But best of all, it was great fun!
Our Science Ambassadors and some Y3 volunteers worked during their break times at our Gadget Shop, Stock is now running low if you want to buy something!
