Year 3 and 4 had a real immersive experience at the Jorvik Viking Centre this week! We boarded time travelling cars and landed in the 10th Century, amid the townsfolk of the Viking capital. We saw and heard traders, workers, families all speaking Old Norse. We also smelled many different aromas, not all pleasant!
Later, we went to the DIG site to become archaeologists trying to learn:
- Who lived in the past.
- Where they lived.
- What they ate.
- What they believed.
- The effect they had on their environment.
Archaeologists learn this by looking at the physical remains left by these people.
What was your favourite part? What was the most interesting fact you discovered?
