Hi everyone, I hope that you’re staying safe, healthy and most importantly enjoying yourselves! Even whilst we’re not in school, we are still championing our ECO code. Tomorrow (Sat 28th March) is Earth Hour, which allows you to join millions of people in reducing their energy consumption to help people, nature and the planet.
It’s a great way to connect with people and spend some quality time with your family, doing activities that don’t require electricity. So, at 8:30pm (or when it is convenient) switch off your lights and do some activities.
- Read a book with torches
- Dinner in the dark – use some candles
- Play board games using candles as your light source
- Movie night!
- Camp in your garden
- Night time photography
- Write a letter to your future Eco Warrior self
- Have a dance party
- Shadow puppets
- Indoor scavenger hunt
Please comment below with all of the different things you did for Earth Hour 2020, I can’t wait to read them and see how you are changing our planet for the better. Your comments could earn you a shout out in next week’s assembly, so get sharing!
Below is a video to watch of David Attenborough and Greta Thunberg talking about how to save our planet.
