This week’s Year 6 Blogger – Evie!
Henry VIII had 6 wives, Catherine Of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr. His wives went in order of Divorced, Beheaded, Died, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived. 🙂 Today I will only be doing 3 though 😀
Catherine Of Aragon:
Catherine Of Aragon was 50 years old old when she died. She was married to henry for 24 years, she had 6 children with henry however, sadly the only one that survived was his daughter Mary Tudor. Although, Henry VIII wanted a boy to take over after he died Catherine was to old to have any more children. Successfully, after Mary’s brother prince Edward passed away Mary became the first queen of Scotland.
Anne Boleyn was 35 years old when she was beheaded! She was married to Henry for 3 years. After she gave birth henry was disappointed that it wasn’t a male but he still loved her, they named her Elizabeth the 1st. The relationship between Henry and Anne was that strong any more! Later on, Anne got beheaded cheating on henry behind his back.
FUN FACTS ABOUT ANNE BOLEYN:
On Anne’s right hand she appeared to have not 5 but b fingers!
Anne actually played the lute (a guitar-like instrument usually played at Tudor gatherings)
Anne Boleyn’s daughter was queen for decades…
THERE’S ONLY ONE SURVIVING PORTRAIT OF ANNE BOLEYN!
Jane Seymour died when she was only 28 years old! Henry loved Jane unconditionally however, when Jane was giving birth to her son Edward she sadly died. Although now henry had a son he was still heart broken! they was married for 1 year before she passed and when Edward became king he only lived for 16 more years!
I hope you like all the facts
