Jubilee Celebrations! Happy Birthday BRW!

What an incredibly special day BRW have just had…

On Thursday 12th October, we welcomed Bishop Patrick to the Corpus Christi Parish to celebrate our Jubilee Mass with the school and parish community.    The school is officially 60 years old this year after being built in 1957.  It was a truly beautiful celebration where Bishop Patrick praised the glorious singing which, in Bishop Patrick’s words, came straight from our hearts…and it certainly did.  It was lovely to celebrate the school’s birthday with past and present pupils, parents, staff, governors and parish community members.  The cake and coffee went down a treat whilst catching up with old faces, reminiscing about stories and pouring over old photos which caused a chuckle or two.

At the end of this wonderful day, we gathered together in the school playground to let off the BRW balloons and sing happy birthday to the school.  On each balloon, we tied a scroll spreading our jubilee message far and wide.  If you happen to find a balloon, please get in touch!  Let’s see how far out jubilation has spread!

The new apple tree has now been planted in the Jubilee Garden by our school captains, Alexie and Julia, and marked with a commemorative plaque.  In doing this, we continue to ensure our school is the rich soil in nourishing our faith and spirit, now and into the future.

Happy Birthday BRW!  We look forward to the many more birthdays to come…
