Over the last few weeks, Year 6 have been making our very own African masks! This was an enjoyable activity because we had an opportunity to use a glue gun. However, this was also challenging because we had to create our own designs and paint this onto our prototype masks. This required us to dig, discover, make and master.
Firstly, we had to make our very own mask designs and copy this into our sketchbook. Secondly, we had to paint our designs onto a prototype mask, which proved challenging because of the round shape of the mask. Lastly, we had to add raffia onto our masks using a glue gun.
What do you think? What type of art have you been creating this term?
