Forest School this half term has been focused around mindfulness and being at one with nature.
The children have taken part in yoga sessions in the woods where they became different animals and went on a sound safari to listen to the noises found in the Forest.
They became ‘tree huggers’ and worked out how wide different trees were by counting how many children it took to hug around the whole trunk. They also created rubbings from the trees to discover each trees unique pattern.
Finally, they searched for special things found in the forest and used these to create ‘magical mindfulness crowns.’ These crowns helped the children to become still and simply spend some time just ‘being’ in the Forest.
We can’t wait to come back next term!
