Mini Beast Hunting at Forest School

Last week we enjoyed using spotter sheets and hunting for mini-beasts in the woods.  Today, the children used magnifying glasses and pooters to observe some of the different mini-beasts they found in the woods.

After they had looked closely and described what they could see, they made observational drawings of the mini-beast before releasing it back into the wild!

The children were especially interested in the woodlouse and we had some interesting names for them!

‘It’s a woodmouse!’ – Poppy

‘It’s a wolflouse!’ – Tevin
