This week, a magic box appeared in Year 2. We didn’t know who had placed it there but we wanted to look inside!
We carefully took the different objects out of the box and thought like detectives.
What were the objects?
Who had put them in the box?
How did they link together?
Who might they belong to?
Year 2 shared some very impressive ideas. We thought the apple in the box might belong to Snow White and the rose might belong to the Prince in Beauty and Beast. Some of us thought the box might belong to a farmer as all of the objects were natural and things you might find on a farm.
After that, we read the poem by Kit Wright called ‘The Magic Box’. This poem is about all the weird and wonderful things you might put into a magic box.
What would you put in your own magic box?
