Welcome Back 2021

Welcome to the new school year!  It is wonderful to be back.  All of the children have settled in well and have become familiar with their teachers and new routines.

This year our curriculum theme is: ‘Rise Up, Take Courage and Do it!’ taken fromEzra 10:4.  We will embrace this phrase as we continue through our school year together.  We aim to be inspired by it to rise up, work together and face any challenge that comes our way head on.

We have been re-visiting and thinking about the BRW 5 R Values which help to build our ‘Learning Power’ recently in school.  We have had some assembly and class time to think about and discuss them.  As a reminder, they include:

  • Resilience – persevering and bouncing back.
  • Relationships – building positive relationships with those around us.
  • Reflectiveness – thinking about and evaluating our plans and how they will work.
  • Resourcefulness – being able to work with others and find creative solutions.
  • Responsibility – for our own actions and for our world.

Throughout our learning and school life we will continue to work on these key values and highlight when they have helped and supported us.

There are so many wonderful things to look forward to this year, including our school assemblies, masses and Liturgies.  Our Mass of Welcome at the start of term was a joyous occasion where we celebrated together as a school family.  We have been working very hard in hymn practice after a long break to ensure our singing skills are up to scratch and we look forward to sharing our talents with you all in our Harvest Mass next week.  Parents and parishioners are very welcome!

You may have noticed that our BRW Forest School development is now well underway; thank you for your kind donations towards it.  We look forward to using this area as part of our outdoor learning this year.

I look forward to seeing you at our school assemblies and masses this term and to celebrating all of our children’s wonderful achievements.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Maylard-Mason
