For the last seven weeks, Year 6 have been learning poetry!

They have selected their own poems, learnt them in their own time and decided on how to perform them to their audience.

  3. poetry is actually fun when you try it! I started liking it when I kept doing different types of poems with any colour I could find… for example pink I would have made a poem with all the words that match with pink . I also tried to match it to their personality as pink ( everyone might call it)would be the girly colour. And me myself, think that yellow would be called the bright colour

  4. I love poems, poems because sometimes I see poems and they really describe my life. Poems could be about ANYTHING in the world e.g. fashion, animals, romance, comedy, flowers-anything YOU love! Its actually really fun to read about what other people want to say and think.

  5. I enjoyed learning the poems. You can learn how to use new poetic devices in more of your poems that you write.

  6. I really enjoyed this years world book day especially because it is my last year. My favourite part was when at the end of the day all the parents came to read with their children and there was a bake sale with cakes that people had brought to school. And what made it even better was that there was bean bags and pillows so we can sit on them.

  7. Poem are so fun to read to the class room and it can be about anything like my poem was about football and was good it also helps you to be more confident in reading.

  8. It was fun and exciting how we learnt about the poems and reading them out to the class; it helps me remember how to use poetic devices such as similes, metaphors, personification and many other devices!
