World Book Day in Year 3

Wow what a great collection of costumes we had in Year 3 today. We’ve had such a busy day – EVERYTHING book related! We started the morning off with an assembly and a Vocabulary Parade in the hall. The we had our Whole Class Reading – we’re really enjoying Dick King-Smith’s ‘The Sheep-Pig’ and learning new vocabulary. Next, we visited other classes to hear different teachers read stories. Our Maths lesson was a measuring investigation…of books.

After lunch, we had some of our school librarians visit us to read ‘Owl Babies’. Followed by a Scavenger Hunt, Book Bingo and making bookmarks. Finally, we finished the day with French whilst children visited the Reading Cafe…phew! What a brilliant day!
