World Oceans Day is a global day of ocean celebration and collaboration for a better future. On the 8th June, we need to think carefully about our oceans – 71% of our planet is covered in water – we need to protect the water surrounding us.  The main thing damaging our oceans is plastic. We use and throw away so much plastic that a lot of it is being washed into the oceans. At least 8 million tonnes of plastic enter the oceans each year. That’s similar to emptying a garbage truck of plastic into an ocean every minute. This is terrible for our oceans – we must do something about it!

We should think carefully about how we use plastic and how we can reduce our use of plastic. Watch the video below to find out more.
