Year 4 WOW Word of the Week!

This is our last one Year 4! Let’s make our sentences extra special 🙂

In Year 4 we always love to learn new words and challenge ourselves to use them in our conversations and writing.

Which new words have you learnt this week?

This week, my new favourite word is…..

elaborate

It’s an adjective and it’s a way to describe an accurate or detailed pattern!

Try to use it in your own sentence. Here are some examples…

He crafted an elaborate design on his mosaic.

She conjured an elaborate plan of how to break into Gringotts.

The dancers wore elaborate costumes.

If you use this as a verb however, it means to explain in more detail.

Adjective – having intricate or complex detail.

i.e. Can you elaborate about what happened?
