In Year 4 we always love to learn new words and challenge ourselves to use them in our conversations and writing.
Which new words have you learnt this week?
This week, my new favourite word is…..
barren
It’s an adjective, it’s a way to describe something which is very dry and has no vegetation.
Try to use it in your own sentence. Here are some examples…

Did you get my comment yesterday?
Hi Hollie,
No I don’t think I did! Can you post it again?
The Mojave Desert is an arid rain-shadow desert and the driest desert in North America. It is in the southeastern California and southern Nevada, and it occupies 47,877 sq mi. Small areas also extend into Utah and Arizona. This would make it a very dry and barren and dense landscape and make it impossible for people to live there. There is very little water and very little life.
WOW Hollie! Beautifully crafted sentences which use the word well.

Excellent use of the word!
I don’t know if you got mine either.

Hi Jamie! I’ve got your sentence and I’ve seen lots of your home school learning too today!
Keep up the hard work 🙂
