Year 5 Number Day!

In Year 5 we celebrated the NSPCC’s Number Day spectacularly! We dressed up in ‘digits’ and began our day with some Maths (naturally)!

Money Matters

We learnt how to take care of our money, what bank accounts are and what to do if scammers try to trick us out of our money!

Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

We do! We then had a game of ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire?’, which tested our mathematical knowledge greatly! The house of John won!

In the afternoon, we enjoyed the assembly and watching Y6 battle against the heads in a multiplication challenge – we’d better get practicing for next year!

  1. Wow! It looks like you had an amazing time. In Year 6, we had a look at the meaning of gambling, labelled the features of a payslip and we also had a go at being mathmillionaires! Well done to John for winning in Year 5 and for winning the all important maths trophy of 2022 (John even beat Mrs Maylard Mason)! It was definitely scary trying to win for our house in the final challenge of the day! I hope you had a great NSPCC Number Day!

  2. Good word Year 5. It is amazing how u can get up to the same work as all of us year 6s. I really enjoyed how u looked at how money matters.

  3. NSPCC Number Day was Amazing! We did all types of stuff such as testing our skills in maths by answering 12 questions. Unfortunately, our team had lost and the House of Luke had won the competition. But It didn’t matter, since John had won the NSPPC Number Day competition!

  4. I really enjoyed NSPCC number day as well. I personally enjoyed when Year 6 took part in a TTRS Competition. It looks like you had a lot of fun in Year 5.

  5. Amazing Year 5! It looked like so much fun! Up in year 6 we did lots of things aswell, such as: defining gambling and looking at real life stituations like being in debt and how jobs pay you your salary! We had a go at being ‘millionairs’ too! Also, congrats to the winner(s) of who wants to be a millionair!

  6. Oh My Gosh Year 5 you looks so in to NSPCC Number Day! I see you have been learning lots about maths! I love your costumes dressing up as numbers!

  7. It was so fun dressing up in number, shapes and even maths mathematicians. I loved playing all the challenges. I really enjoyed how u looked at how money mattered and learnt all about money safety. I hope u all had fun on number day!!!
