Year 5’s Wintery Adventure!

Year 5 went on an exciting trip to Nottingham City Centre today. We started off by walking through town to look at how tourism has impacted on the city centre. Whilst exploring Nottingham Castle, we were caught in a snow blizzard, which was very exciting (if a little cold)!

After that, we headed to the Nottingham Contemporary to warm up and discover the current exhibition – ‘From ear to ear to eye’. We looked at how stories can be told through sight, sound and smell. We had chance to create our own artistic stories too.

Finally, we went to the Broadway cinema to watch ‘Hercules’, which links to our topic on the Ancient Greeks. The day whizzed by and we had lots of laughs together.

  1. It was a great day out. I enjoyed exploring Nottingham Castle and visiting the Nottingham Contemporary. Watching Hercules stands out as my favourite part of the trip. Our wintery adventure was very exciting!

  2. I loved this trip. We started off at Nottingham Castle as it was a place that attracted tourists. Then whilst we were walking in Market Square, we tried to spot how it had changed to make more tourists come. Then we went to the Nottingham Contemporary and made our own stories. Then finally we went to watch Hercules which I think was everyone’s favourite part. Overall, I think this is the best trip I have ever had however it was a bit chilly!
